What is “A1”?

You can think of any letters and numbers you see following the device series as “versions”. As part of Mason’s promise to our customers we guarantee 5+ years of supply for a particular Class and Series combination. At the start of the project we will perform a supply chain audit and plan a roadmap that aligns with your product goals.

Over those five years small components may change, or even the underlying chipset as Qualcomm launches a new platform, but we will work together to ensure the hardware you’re buying always has the same fit, form and function with no surprises.

How do I use this information?

Understanding the device class and series will help you select a device that meets the needs of your product. If your application is fairly simple and doesn’t require too many resources you may opt for the lower end device in the 200 series which translates to cost savings. Or perhaps you are building an AI/Machine learning product that needs to use computer vision? A 400 or 600 series would perform better for that usecase.
